President of Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Bassam Adeel Jaleel has officially announced the arrival of the prestigious trophy of World Cup 2018 to Maldives on January 24.
President of FAM Bassam Adeel Jaleel stated that various activities have been planned to mark the arrival of the most prestigious trophy in the field of football in associating with Coca Cola Company of Maldives. Maldives is the second destination of the World Cup in its tour and stated that activities would be organised which would be open for public participation, Bassam revealed addressing the press. Bassam said the efforts to bring the trophy to Maldives was an initiative of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom with the aim to provide the rare opportunity for all Maldivians to see the trophy. The arrival of World Cup 2018 to Maldives is a huge celebratory achievement for all Maldivians, according to the President of FAM.
World Cup 2018 will kick off in Russia on June 14 next year.
