Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Taro Kono is scheduled to make an Official visit to the Maldives on 6 January 2018, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives.
A statement published on the Foreign Ministry’s website said that during his visit, Minister Kono will pay a courtesy call on President of Maldives Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim.
This year marks the 50th anniversary since diplomatic relations were established between Maldives and Japan.
