Maldives Investment Forum 2017 was launched by Vice President Abdulla Jihad and Minister of Economy of UAE, Sultan Bin Al Mansoori، at the World Trade Centre of Dubai
The Maldives Investment Forum 2017, being held at World Trade Centre of Dubai, is attended by over 300 business entrepreneurs and high level dignitaries from economic ministries of both Maldives and UAE.
Addressing the ceremony after launching the fourth edition of the Investment Forum, Vice President Abdulla Jihad noted the major economical developmental projects conducted by the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom in Maldives.
Vice President Jihad further highlighted that Maldives has attracted a huge number of investors in the past 4 years. The Vice President said that Maldives has expanded its scope in providing investment opportunities in various fields and called on entrepreneurs to attain knowledge about the opportunities via the Maldives Investment Forum.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed stated that the administration has been taking major measures to ensure the steady growth of investment opportunities beneficial to the country. In this regard, Minister Saeed noted the free trade agreements signed with foreign countries, which would benefit Maldives in various ways. Minister Saeed stated that Maldives is not only a tourist destination but also, a country with a huge scope for investments in other sectors as well.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Economy of UAE, Sultan Bin Al Mansoori stated that UAE pays keen interest to actively explore additional new investment opportunities in the Maldives. In this regard, Minister Mansoori stated that UAE would extend its support in the development of Maldives in fields such as aviation and renewable energy production in Maldives.
Maldives investment Forum is the premier investment promotion event of the Government of Maldives. The Forum will showcase the investment potential of the Maldives along with specific opportunities for investment, both from the Government and private sector of the Maldives. In addition, ample opportunity will be facilitated for B2B and G2B networking. The Government is working with key business chambers of UAE as well as the Government of UAE to ensure the presence of key government, and business figures are present in the Forum.
