President urges Maldivians to continue to adhere to Islamic faith

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appealed to the nation to continue in adherence to the Islamic faith and to move forward in the true spirit of Islam. The President urged Maldivians to study and to accept the Islamic values embodied by Prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) and to learn life lessons.

The President highlighted major lessons should be learnt from the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him); being an example of perseverance and courageousness within all the obstacles he faced while spreading the Islamic faith. He also noted that the persistence of the Prophet (peace be upon him), under prevailing circumstances, had made Islam the most respected, most admired around the world.
