Russian and Australian Ambassadors call on Foreign Secretary

The Ambassador of Australia and Non-Resident Ambassador of Russia have called on Foreign Secretary of Maldives in two separate meetings.

The Ambassador of Australia to Maldives Bryce Hutchesson called on Foreign Secretary Ahmed Sareer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Foreign Secretary Sareer and Ambassador Hutchesson discussed about the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Australia, and ways of further strengthening the existing ties. The Foreign Secretary expressed appreciation for the continuous support extended by the Australian government for the human resource development in the Maldives.

The Maldivian Foreign Secretary and the Ambassador exchanged views on specific areas of cooperation between the two countries particularly on environment and international relations.

Furthermore, the new Non-Resident Ambassador of Russia to the Maldives Yury Materiy called on Foreign Secretary Ahmed Sareer. The Foreign Secretary congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that the relations between the two countries would be strengthened under the Ambassador's tenure. 

Both the Foreign Secretary and the Ambassador discussed areas in which relations could be further enhanced.
