140 international companies registers for MIF 2017

Ministry of Economic Development has revealed that 140 international companies have registered for the Maldives Investment Forum (MIF) 2017 to be held in Dubai, UAE.

In an interview with PSM News, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Adam Thaufeeg stated that there is significant interest by international investors, adding that the target is to attract at least 300 international investors. The Deputy Minister highlighted the support received from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy of UAE and Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He further revealed that Minister of Economy of UAE will participate and address at the MIF this year. A special stall to promote the tourism industry will be established at the forum, he added.

Registration for local companies who want to participate in the investment forum is open till December 10. The forum will be held at the Al Maktoum Hall of Dubai World Trade Centre on December 18.

The Maldives Investment Forum is an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development to showcase the immense potential of Maldives as an attractive investment destination.
