Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has met with the President of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Shinichi Kitaoka, as part of his official trip to Japan.
During the meeting, the Maldivian Foreign Minister highlighted the ongoing projects in the Maldives, assisted by JICA and thanked the organisation for the valuable contributions to the Maldives in the areas of communication, fisheries, education and health.

Foreign Minister Asim also took the opportunity to thank JICA for the invaluable contributions made by the Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) in furthering relations between the two countries. Both Foreign Minister and the President of JICA, discussed ways to further strengthen the existing cooperation.
