World Travel Market (WTM) 2017 was concluded successfully, according to Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
Maldives participated in WTM held in London with a strong contingent including participation of 70 companies. 195 representatives from resorts, hotels, guesthouse, travel agencies, associations, and airline operators are representing the Maldives at the fair, according to MMPRC. Changes were brought to the stand to accommodate the increasing number of industry partners participating at the fair year on year, implying the significance of the fair to the partners which is a positive indication, MMPRC said. MMPRC conducted various activities to promote Maldives to international markets.
WTM London is a leading global event for the travel industry, generating more than USD 3.7 billion of business contracts amongst attendees. Now in its 37th year, the fair attracts a global audience that shape the travel industry. WTM 2017 featured packed halls, numerous business meetings and insightful seminars and presentations. It is believed that around 51,500 representatives, including senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and international media participated in WTM this year.
During WTM 2017, Maldives TV of Public Service Media (PSM) also conducted different activities to promote Maldives as a tourist destination.
