New book about sharks found in Maldives released at WTM 2017

A book, about sharks found in Maldives has been officially released at the World Travel Market 2017.  The book was unveiled by Attorney General Mohamed Anil as part of the efforts to promote Maldives as a tourist destination at the global fair in London.

The book gives insight into the various types of sharks living in the Maldivian territorial waters. The book, being first of its kind includes research and studies about the Maldivian shark family.

Addressing the ceremony held to unveil the book, Marine Ecologist of the University of Milano Bicocca of Italy, Paul Gurley stated that the book would be of great benefit to both locals and tourists.

A share of the income generated through the sale of the book would be invested in providing scholarship opportunities from the University of Milano Bicocca outpost in Maldives, he revealed.

The book was written based on research by Alessandro De Maddalena.
