India has sought assistance to invite key stakeholders from Maldives for the upcoming 12th Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory Summit to be held from December 4-5.
Chairman of CII, Sanjay Dave and Deputy Director of Jubilant Bhartia Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE), Anju Bist met with Maldivian Ambassador to India, Ahmed Mohamed, and discussed to seek assistance from the Embassy in India to invite key stakeholders from Maldives for the summit to be held at The Lalit Hotel, in New Delhi.
Ambassador Ahmed Mohamed extended his full support and said that the summit will be an excellent opportunity for Maldives to gain more insight into global best practices in food safety, quality and regulatory regimes. The Ambassador added that it will help Maldives, not only in the country's own fisheries exports but also in the import of food essentials. He further assured that he would pass on information of the Summit to the relevant stakeholders in Maldives.
The CII Food Safety and Quality And Regulatory Summit is the only one of its kind, international summit in India. The summit aims at bringing the entire ecosystem of the food safety and food processing industry on one global platform to discuss the best practices in food quality and safety systems with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) works to create and sustain an environment conducive to the development of India, partnering industry, government, and civil society, through advisory and consultative process.
