Ambassadors of Romania and Nepal call on Foreign Minister

Newly appointed Ambassadors from Nepal and Romania have called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Asim. During separate meetings, the two Ambassadors and the Minister discussed ways in which Maldives and the respective countries could further strengthen existing ties.

The new Non-Resident Ambassador of the Nepal to the Republic of Maldives Professor Bishwambher Pyakuryal paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr.Mohamed Asim. During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Asim welcomed the Ambassador and congratulated him on his appointment. Minister Asim and the Ambassador discussed ways of further strengthening the existing friendly relations between the Maldives and Nepal. The Ambassador also assured his commitment to working closely with the Government of Maldives to enhance collaboration in areas that are of mutual benefit to both countries.

The new non-resident Ambassador of Romania Radu Octavian Dobre, also called on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr.Mohamed Asim. At the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Asim congratulated Ambassador Dobre on his appointment and expressed hope that with the contribution of the Ambassador, existing bilateral ties and cooperation between Maldives and Romania will be further strengthened.

Minister Dr. Asim and Ambassador Dobre exchanged views on further enhancing cooperation between both countries and reflected on ways to strengthen the existing relations, especially in the areas of trade, investment, education, tourism and other areas of mutual interest. Ambassador Dobre assured the Minister Dr. Asim of his willingness and commitment to work with the Government of Maldives to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
