Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam has returned to Maldives after participating in the Goa Maritime Conclave held in India's, Goa.
According to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Major General Ahmed Shiyam addressed on the last day of the forum held on the theme, "Addressing Regional Maritime Challenges". In addition to Maldives, naval chiefs and maritime security agencies heads of 10 countries, including India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Myanmar, and Bangladesh participated in the two day forum.
The Goa Maritime Conclave is aimed at establishing academic excellence, sharing ideas and finding collective solutions to maritime issues of interest in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The forum, organised by the Naval War College (NWC) in Goa.
