National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) has publicised the National Counter-Terrorism Strategic Plan. The strategic plan was unveiled by the Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar.
National Counter-Terrorism Strategic Plan sets out an approach to prevent and dealing with acts of terrorism in Maldives and its territories, according to NCTC.
Speaking at the function held to launch the plan, Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar stated that it is a milestone achievement for the efforts of countering terrorism in Maldives. Minister Adam Shareef Umar added that the strategic plan will boost and ease the efforts of the government in countering terrorism. Furthermore, the Defence Minister noted that efforts of countering terrorism in Maldives are conducted with the affiliation of international agencies.
NCTC is mandated to act as the national focal point in all anti-terrorism matters.
