Bangladesh expresses interest to develop business agreements

Addressing the keynote at the seminar held at Hotel Jen titled, Trade opportunities in Bangladesh: Unlocking the Potentials, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Maldives Rear Admiral Akhtar Habib has expressed interest to develop business agreements between the two countries.

Ambassador Akhtar Habib stated the fact that Bangladesh is the second largest economy in South East Asia region reflects the economic success Bangladesh has achieved over the years. Bangladesh has transformed and established itself as a well-established economy in the world, added the Ambassador Akhtar Habib.

Highlighting on the close relations maintained between Maldives and Bangladesh, Ambassador Akhtar Habib stated that the trade sector needs to be given prime focus, as Bangladesh is a potential exporter in the South East Asian region. The seminar was organised by the Bangladesh Embassy in Maldives to provide a better perspective on the trade opportunities to the business elites and eminent personalities in Maldives.

Papers on the topics; Growth and Development Trend: Bangladesh's perspective, Trade Opportunities between Bangladesh and Maldives: A frontier Approach, Export Potentials of Bangladeshi Goods in Maldives and Import Potentials of Pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh, were presented at the seminar.

Bangladesh Embassy revealed that the core objective of organising the seminar is to expand bilateral trade in Maldives. The Maldivian elites present in the seminar expressed huge appreciation that made the seminar extremely successful.
