MIPSS is introduced by Maldives Immigration to minimise recruitment fraud and victimisation of migrant workers, conduct health and security screening. The system will provide opportunities for employer, employee and agents to communicate and monitor the progress of recruitment process.
After the introduction of MIPSS, migrant workers have to conduct health screening before arriving in Maldives. Maldives Immigration said the changes would address health risks present in the current recruitment process in practice.
