The Government of Maldives has revealed that the official function celebrating this year's Republic Day has been rescheduled for the evening of November 11.
Previously the celebration was scheduled to be held on November 16, as a combined function celebrating the Republic Day and National Day. The Republic Day of Maldives is marked on the November 11, and the National Day coincides with November 19, this year.
The annual National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition will be conferred at the Republic Day function. In addition, the President's Medal will be conferred to individuals who have committed the Quran in its entirety to memory, and to students placed in the world top ten in the IGCSE and GCE O'level examinations, and for the students who were placed in the world top ten in the A'level examinations.
