Soneva Fushi pledges support to the implementation of SDGs

Soneva Fushi has pledged to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Maldives, by signing an agreement with UNDP.

The agreement was signed by UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Maldives, Shoko Noda and Founder, Chairman and CEO of Soneva Group, Sonu Shivdasani.

According to UNDP Maldives, this partnership will involve joint efforts on issues such as promoting education on climate change, environment protection, women's rights and empowerment, water security and safety, waste management, renewable energy and other such causes in Maldives.

This agreement is a part of UNDP Maldives' Make My Island Initiative. This is a cause, involving inviting partners to work together with the organisation in order to bring about sustainable and localised development solutions for Maldivian society.

Sustainable Development Goals are a set of 17 goals which were adopted by countries on the 25th September 2015, to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Specific targets in each goal are to be achieved over next 15 years.
