Younger generation need to sustain peace the country: Dr. Waheed

Former President of the Maldives Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has said that sustaining basic human rights is a huge responsibility of the younger generation. While addressing at the graduation ceremony of AVID College, former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik noted the fundamental rights entitled under the constitution of the Maldives.

In this regard, former President Dr. Waheed underscored the importance of attaining education and knowledge and noted the revolutionary changes that has taken place in the education sector. Furthermore, Dr. Waheed highlighted the advancements Maldives has achieved during the past few years in terms of education, health, transportation and housing.

Continuing on, Dr. Waheed expressed that all these development projects are possible due to efforts to ensure basic human rights in the country. The former President emphasised that protecting human rights is a responsibility of the current generation.
