Islamic educator, Dr. Nadeem Memon garneed much support for his lecture titled "My Success is only by Allah". The lecture was delivered at the Islamic Centre grounds on Friday night.
Dr. Nadeem Memon is the Director of Education at Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group. He is visiting the Maldives on an invitation of the First Lady, Fathimath Ibrahim. The lecture was delivered as part of the weekly Islamic Festival, 'Hukuru-Ufa'- a joint effort of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Public Service Media (PSM).
In his lecture, Dr. Memon spoke on how good and bad experiences in life are lessons, and how we have to reflect on the blessings by Allah Almighty while being patient in the face of adversity.
The lecture was attended by the First Lady, Fathimath Ibrahim, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed Ziyad, and Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, Chancellor of the Islamic University of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director of Public Service Media Ibrahim Khaleel and Mohamed Ikram Abdul Latheef respectively, among other dignitaries such as members of parliament, in addition to members of the public.
During the event, 2 lucky youth; one male and one female, were awarded undergraduate scholarships from the Islamic University Maldives (IUM) Furthermore, winners of September's Umarh trip and the two-way ticket by Maldivian for any domestic destination was announced at the function.
Hukuru-Ufa is a weekly Islamic Festival organized with the aim of strengthening the Islamic and social fabric of the country through promoting Islamic values and principles. It aims to create Islamic awareness amongst youth, adults and the elderly, to refresh their knowledge of Islam.
