Road projects in Ungoofaaru & Meedhoo to be completed by February

Maldives Road Development Cooperation (MRDC) has revealed that the efforts to develop road networks in Ungoofaaru and Meedhoo of Raa Atoll would be concluded by February 2018.

Under the efforts of the current administration to establish quality road networks, MRDC is handling the development of various road development projects at various parts of the country. Currently 52% of the 3.2 kilometre road development project of Ungoofaaru and the 49% of the road development project has been completed, according to MRDC.

MRDC has successfully completed the road development projects of Thinadhoo in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Villigili in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Hulhudhoomedhoo of Addu city, Kudahuvadhoo in Dhaalu Atoll and Vilifushi in Thaa Atoll. MRDC expects to complete road development projects in 5 islands by the end of this year and in additional 4 islands by the start of next year.

Currently, road development projects are carried out in Ungoofaaru and Meedhoo in Raa Atoll, Eydhafushi in Baa Atoll, Fonadhoo in Laamu Atoll, Haa Dhaalu Hanimadhoo and Kulhudhuffusi in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Dhidhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll and Fuvahmulah city.
