Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim states that the developmental plans of the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has overpowered the defamation accusations made by the opposition parties.
Speaking on the Raajje Miadhu TV programme, aired on PSM News, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim stated that the opposition has been trying out various tactics to defame the current government in the international arena. The Foreign Minister highlighted that these tactics does not concern the administration as the development plans are turning out to be successful endeavors.
Minister Asim added that these successes are witnessed with the increase of tourist arrivals and foreign investors. The Minster stated that the image of Maldives being a peaceful and harmonious nation has not been changed over the political turmoil and is still amongst the top tourist destinations.
On the closing remark, Minister Asim highlighted the successful round of talks and discussion meetings held on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of United Nations General Assembly.
