Addressing the keynote at the ceremony held to unveil the National Policy on senior citizens, Vice President Abdulla Jihad has described senior citizens as the most expensive treasure of a country as they have attained a lot of knowledge and experience in their life span. The Vice President stated that senior citizens are behind every success in the development of the country.
Vice President Jihad highlighted that senior citizens has witnessed and experienced both happiness and grief of the nation and highlighted the importance of providing easy and comfortable life for them. Senior citizens of Maldives are in favor of the current administration and applauded President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom for working for the betterment of senior citizens, added Vice President.
The National Policy on senior citizens provides them safety and security and boost the involvement of senior citizens in the development of the society.
