Land reclamation work begins for the project to develop the link road between Hulhumale' and Hulhule'.
Dredgers and other equipment required for the project have been brought and work to reclaim land in the area has now begun. This project is conducted as part of the China- Maldives Friendship Bridge project, which will link Male' and Hulhule.
Land reclamation in this project is progressing swiftly and that reclamation work would be completed by the end of next week, Housing Development Corporation states.
Their aim is to complete work on the highway between Hulhumale and Hulhule', prior to completion of the bridge, Managing Director of HDC, Mohamed Saiman said. He expressed hope to ease travel for residents of Hulhumale' via this highway.
The 4 kilometer highway is to be developed in accordance with the latest international standards, with 4 lanes.
