Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore Vivian Balakrishnan. At a meeting held at the United Nations headquarters, both Ministers discussed strengthening the close bilateral ties between Maldives and Singapore and enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Minister of Environment and Energy of the Maldives Thoriq Ibrahim also participated in the meeting.

Furthermore, Minister Asim also met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria Abdelkader Messahel. At a meeting held at the United Nations headquarters, both Ministers discussed strengthening cooperation on issues of mutual interest, such as climate change.
The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
