Information sessions related to SDGs held in Addu and Fuvahmulah

Ministry of Environment and Energy along with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held an information sessions related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

The information sessions, divided between two days, were held for officials of civil society and non-governmental organization from the Atolls. It was held to inform them about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discuss their roles in achieving the goals. The aim of the sessions is for the participants to prepare for the Civil Society Organizations Forum on Sustainable Development Goal 2017 which is to be held next month, according to the organisers.

Environment Ministry and UNDP has already held these sessions in 16 Atolls with more sessions planned to be held next month in Huvadhu Atoll. During the sessions, officials from the Ministry and UNDP inform the participants on the roles of individual organisations in achieving SDGs and discuss how to overcome obstacles faced in achieving the goals.
