Maritime Academy of Maldives has inaugurated its new business school in Maldives. Maritime Academy, which carries out various short and long term courses at a large scale, launched its new business school at the unveiling ceremony held at the National Art Gallery.
Maritime Academy revealed that the core objective of the new business school is to expand the shipping sector in Maldives as this sector is a fast progressing sector in the country. It also would cater for students who want to progress in the field of business.
In the ceremony, it was revealed that a total of 6 courses designated for business field would be opened for the students to enroll. These courses include courses such as, business management, human resource management, project management. In addition, Islamic Financing courses would also be commenced by the Academy. These courses would be carried out in association with the Maldives Centre for Islamic Finance. This institution would cater courses starting from certificate level three to Diploma standard. Maritime Academy said that additional courses would be included annually.
Maritime Academy revealed that currently the courses of business school are proceeding at Noonu Atoll and stated that the business school would expand its services to the other atolls.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister of State of Education Dr. Abdulla Nazeer stated that the administration of President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has done remarkable works in the education sector which is not only on upgrading the sector but also to acknowledge and explore the talents of students. Under this aim the government has launched new streams such as B-Tech and Dhasvaaru. He further stated that these streams are being carried out at an internationally acknowledged level.
Maritime Academy revealed that the courses of the institution would be opened at a comparatively lower price.
