Chief Justice of the Maldives, Abdulla Saeed reveals that the government is to execute an online filing system for judiciary.
The new venture was initiated in the year 2016 and that it will be established in three stages, said the Chief Justice, while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Symposium on Child Rights and the Juvenile Justice System.
The system will provide a platform for the government and law firms to file lawsuits online to courts within the proceeding process. Abdulla Saeed highlighted the benefits of the new electronic system which is to be established.
The online portal will ease the access to schedules of court hearings and trials in advance, and share the information involved parties, helping to avoid clashes as a result, he said. He praised the developments brought to the judicial system of the country.
The Symposium on Child Rights and the Juvenile Justice System 2017 is currently underway at Bandos Island Resort and will continue until the September 18.
