Three individuals receive Professional Career Women Awards at the First International Women Leadership Conference in Maldives.
At the ceremony held by Women in Management (WIM) to launch its local chapter, in the first ever International Women Leadership Conference in Maldives held in Hotel Jen, the local chapter of WIM was inaugurated.
The event was officiated by First Lady Madam Fathimath Ibrahim, Youth Minister Iruthisham Adam, Sri Lankan State Minister Sudharshini Fernandopulle, members of WIM Sri Lanka Executive Committee as well as numerous participants and partners were in attendance. Professional Career Women Awards were given in three categories this year; Shaira Saleem won Business Role Model of 2017 in Maldives, Aishath Rafihyya won Career Role Model of 2017 in Maldives, and Juwairiya Wajudhy won Entrepreneur of 2017 in Maldives.
During the event, WIM Maldives revealed their Executive Committee, launched the WIM Maldives Membership Card, conducted a panel discussion on Women Leadership and presented the Professional & Career Women Award to three Maldivian women.
Addressing the function held at Hotel Jen, Minister of Youth and Sports, Iruthisham Adam stated that empowering young people is prioritized by the government. She highlighted First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim's numerous efforts to empower women and youth. She said that Maldives has recognized development and progress in various fields, especially in the empowerment of women; economically, socially and politically, via President Yameen's manifesto. She added that the government has embarked many programmes to empower youth, girls and women all across Maldives.
