MECS hold special master classes

Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services (MECS) held special master classes for chefs who are participating in Hotel Asia International Challenge.

The master classes, organized by Maldives Exhibition and Conference Services (MECS) and Best Buy Maldives was held at Hotel Island Hotel.  Facilitated by Thailand's Culinary Academy's Founder Chairman, Chef Willment Leong, the classes were held for Maldivian chefs who are participating in the Hotel Asia International Challenge to be held from September 17 to 20.  

Speaking about the classes, General Manager of MECS, Hussein Rauf said that the classes were held to infuse more knowledge to the chefs in the Maldives. He said that Chef Willment Leong is one of the top chefs in the industry and getting his knowledge through to local chefs is important in the effort to improve the services provided in a world class destination like Maldives.

The Hotel Asia Exhibition to be held in September is the 13th such event hosted by MECS. Organisers note that the culinary challenge will see record number of chef participants this year. Over 700 chefs in 22 categories with take part in the challenge and the exhibition is set to display 175 new products this year.
