Cruise lines introduced to Maldivian tourism industry

Introduction of cruise lines to Maldivian tourism industry is considered as a huge step of development by the current administration, according to the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Hussain Liraar.

Addressing the press conference held by Inner Maldives to disseminate information prior to their announcement of their holiday chance in cruise line, Deputy Minister, Hussain Liraar highlighted that such developmental services are greatly appreciated and encouraged by the current administration. The current administration is working on plans to establish a harbor specialized for anchoring cruises, according to Liraar.

Inner Maldives is planning to provide opportunity for the Maldivian society to experience the cruise line of the famous Italian Cruise line, Costa.

The Managing Director of Inner Maldives, Mohamed Firaaq said at the press conference that this is a golden opportunity for Maldivians to experience and holiday on a cruise line. The cruise line which is set to commence on November 18 has two routes of travel. The routes are a three days cruise line trip from Male' to Sri Lanka and a seven days cruise line trip from Male' to Mumbai. The Managing Director of Inner Maldives revealed that the company has made arrangements with the Sri Lankan Airlines if any person would prefer to leave the cruise line.

Inner Maldives opened opportunities for Maldivians to experience cruise lines last year.
