The government of Maldives has awarded the quay wall project for Fonadhoo Island in Laamu Atoll and new channel project of Kaashidhoo Island in Kaafu atoll to Sri Lankan Company, SENOK Trade Combine Limited. The agreements of both projects were signed by the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Operations Manager of Senok, Mahesh Tenuvar.
Under this agreement, a 1200 meter quay wall will be constructed in Fonadhoo .The project is worth MVR 13.35 million. A 166 meter seawall will also be developed in Fonadhoo as part of this project. The project would also see the installation of lights at the harbor and a 21 meter revetment.
The Fonadhoo quay wall project is scheduled to be completed within 380 days while the new channel at Kaashidhoo is to be completed within 338 days.
