MATATO to host training programme on China Outbound Travel Market

Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) has revealed that it is set to host the leading global training programme on China Outbound Travel Market in Maldives. This is an acclaimed training programme run across the globe by world's leading research institute on china market, China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI).

China is world's largest outbound travel market worth more than USD 260 billion and 125 million travelers among whom Maldives remains a top ten island destination. As Maldives continues to increase the bed capacity rapidly and competition among destinations keep growing, we believe that more needs to be done to sustain the growth, especially in markets with high potential.

The training on China market will be held in Maldives on September 11, themed as “Attracting the Right Chinese Traveler.” It will be targeted for sales teams and marketing executives in the travel industry and will be facilitated by COTRI Founder & Director, Professor Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt.

This programme offers deep insights into the characteristics, expectations, motivations and needs of Chinese travelers, enabling tourism service providers to customize their marketing strategy and services to attract the right Chinese traveler. Successful participants acquire certification as Chinese Tourist Welcome Quality Host for two years. Registration is open for resorts, hotels, liveaboards and guesthouses.
