The Government of Maldives expressed grave concern about the deteriorating security situation in the Korean Peninsula.
In a statement, the Maldivian Government stated that continued acts of defiance and provocation by North Korea is not only a threat to the stability of its immediate neighbors, but also a serious threat to the entire Korean Peninsula and the maintenance of international peace and security as a whole.
The Maldivian Government also called upon North Korea to comply fully and unconditionally with the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and immediately cease such provocative actions and to engage with its regional neighbors and all other concerned parties towards achieving peaceful resolution to the issues.
