The judicial cases addressed by the courts grosses over 20,000 for the first time in Maldives.

In 2016 a total of 20,698 cases has been closed, which is an increase of 7% compared to 2015, the latest statistics of the judicial courts has revealed. The statistics further revealed that case clearance rate of the judicial system reached 103% which is a major rise when compared to the previous year.

The latest statistics of 2017 reveals that a total of 921 cases have been filed at the courts in the first half of 2017, with 913 cases concluded. A total of 8 thousand 76 cases are pending a verdict due to various reasons, according to the courts.
