Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has kicks offed 'Tax Week' to increase awareness of taxpayers and general public of the tax system in the Maldives. The 'Tax Week' is to be held from August 6 to 12.
The 'Tax Week' is part of MIRA's attempt to increase awareness of general public regarding tax. The taxation authority said it hopes for the support of the taxpayers in making this endeavor a success.
Speaking about the tax week, the Deputy Marketing and Public Relations Manager of MIRA, Abdul Affar Abdulla stated that this event is held in order to provide awareness on taxes implemented on the public. He revealed different activities are planned to raise awareness among the public regarding tax and MIRA.
The event aims in providing a demonstration to the general public on MIRA's work and increasing awareness on various taxes that are being implemented, according to the authority. Moreover, other activities include special presentations to school, information regarding available jobs at MIRA and a blood donation camp.
