BML receives "Asia's Best Employer Brand Award"

Bank of Maldives (BML) has received the prestigious "Asia's Best Employer Brand Award" from the World HRD Congress and the Employer Branding Institute.

At a ceremony held in Singapore, the judging panel advised they selected the Maldives national bank for its advanced policies and actions in the areas of recruiting, developing and retaining talent which helped to make the national bank one of the most attractive places to work in the region. The ceremony was attended by over 300 human resources professionals from the Asia-Pacific region.

Deputy CEO of BML, Mohamed Shareef, and Head of Human Resources, Ahmed Ibrahim, accepted the award on behalf of the bank. BML is the largest bank and one of the biggest employers in the Maldives, with over 99 percent of the employees being Maldivian.

Following an extensive study of international best practices, there has been continuous investment in progressive staff-related policies, including significant revisions to how employees are recruited, developed and rewarded. The Bank holds regular events to honor its top performing staff and to recognize their loyal service.

At the start of this year, BML committed to invest USD 20 million in community and infrastructure projects across 22 of Maldives, creating 150 new jobs in the process. In 2016, BML won the Capital Finance International Award for "Most Innovative Banking Team, Indian Ocean".
