Pre-summit meeting of South Asian Youth Summit concludes

The Pre-summit meeting of the South Asian Youth Summit has concluded in Maldives.

The Pre-summit meeting was held from the 29th July to 1st August. The summit acts as platform for the youth of South East Asian countries to get together and discuss mutual issues in the hope of generating solutions. At the meeting youth from the region along with Maldivian youth discussed on mutual issues and ways to face the challenges to the youth.

Regarding the pre-summit meeting, the Maldivian ambassador to SAARC Youth Summit and the founder and president of Regional Alliance for Fostering Youth (RAFY), Aishath Rafiyya said that selecting Maldives, out of the eight SAARC countries to hold the Pre Meeting is significant success the Youth of Maldives.

The pre-summit delegation and some participants of the Summit members met with foreign ambassadors in the Maldives and youth from other SAARC countries living in the Maldives to discuss the challenges they face. 380 representatives are taking part in the South Asian Youth Summit 2017, and observers from world powers such as United States, Japan, China and the European Union will be taking part in the summit.

The South Asian Youth Summit will held on September 17 is organized by the International Youth Committee. It provides the opportunity for the youth of the SAARC countries to gather at one place and share their concerns and challenges they face.
