New Permanent Representative of Maldives to U.N. assumes work

The new Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed has assumed work at the Mission.

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom appointed Dr. Ali Naseer as the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations, as the Ambassador of the Maldives to the United States of America and as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Canada.

The Ambassador has been in the Maldives Foreign Service since 1985. Before he was appointed Permanent Representative, he was the Foreign Secretary of the Maldives, from November 2013 to July 2017.
