Maldivians travelling to Sri Lanka decrease in June 2017

Statistics revealed by the Sri Lankan Tourism Promotion Office shows that the number of Maldivians travelling to Sri Lanka has decreased in the month of June.

Records show a decrease in the number every month of the year 2017 compared to the same period in 2016. The number of Maldivians travelling to Sri Lanka experienced a decrease of 5.9% in the month of June even though it was Eid holidays. More than 30,000 Maldivians travelled to Sri Lanka in June 2016, which is a decrease of 5%.

There were more than 1 million tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka in the first 6 months of this year, according to the statistics. Sri Lanka is one of the famous holiday destinations among Maldivians.
