SBI launches two new ATM services

State Bank of India (SBI) has launched service of depositing money to ATM without using cash cards and has also unveiled U.S. dollar ATM service in the Maldives.

The servicing ATMs for the new services which is established in the Male' Branch of SBI, was inaugurated by the Governor of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), Dr. Azeema Adam. Addressing the ceremony of the launch of the services, Dr. Azeema highlighted the new bench marks set by SBI and expressed hope for further development of SBI services in the Maldives.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, CEO of SBI Shankar Narayan said that to use the new service of card less deposit ATM, users can send a code to their mobile phones via the ATM by inserting the account number and contact number. The CEO also added that from the SBI dollar ATM, a maximum of USD 1000 can be withdrawn.

SBI launched their services in Maldives in 1974 and since then developed branches in Male' City, Hithadhoo Island of Addu City and Maamigili Island of Alifu Dhaalu Atoll. With the newly established ATMs the total number of ATMs of SBI in Maldives reaches five. SBI has also recently launched recurring deposit service and mobile banking service.
