MACL expects franchise restaurant to be completed by October

The waterfront franchise restaurant being developed at Velana International Airport (VIA) will be completed and in operation by the end of October this year, reveals Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). The waterfront franchise restaurant is being developed in front of the domestic terminal of Velana International Airport.

Work to open outlets of world renowned seafood chains at Velana International Airport is underway, according to MACL. The two storey building is being designed in accordance with the latest architectural standards, with a walkway on the ground floor and the franchise outlets on the first floor, MACL added.

Speaking with PSM News, Managing Director of MACL Adil Moosa said that the foundation work of the building that would house the waterfront restaurant building has been completed. Currently, work is underway to assemble pre-fabricated parts of the building structure which were manufactured from China, he said. Commenting on the progress of the work, Adil Moosa expressed confidence that the waterfront franchise restaurant will be completed and opened for public by end of October this year.

Velana International Airport already have international brands of food and beverage outlets located in the airport. MACL says that the new project would see service provided at the airport expanded, as well and add more beauty to the waterfront area of the airport. Some of the international outlets MACL is attempting to introduce at the waterfront franchise restaurant include Pizza Hut, KFC and Movenpick.
