Ambassador of Indonesia pays courtesy call on Foreign Minister

Ambassador of Indonesia to the Maldives, I. Gusti Ngurah Ardiyasa paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim. In the meeting, the Minister and Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between the Maldives and Indonesia, and ways of further strengthening the existing ties.

Minister Asim and Ambassador Ngurah further exchanged views on improving cooperation in key areas, mainly technical cooperation, human resources development, maritime, fisheries, connectivity and trade. They also discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest, such as climate change and counter-terrorism and agreed to work closely in the multilateral arena especially at United Nations.  

Foreign Minister Asim was accompanied by Secretary Bilateral Ahmed Khaleel and Assistant Director Ahmed Suzil. Maldives and Indonesia established diplomatic relations on September 2، 1974.
