Maldives will not compromise freedom: Ambassador Shareef

Ambassador of Maldives to Japan, Mohamed Hussain Shareef stated that Maldives will not let go of its integrity and freedom and would not defy the constitution. He made this statement, speaking on PSM News' talk show 'Raajje Miadhu'.

The Ambassador highlighted that, although Maldives continue to build diplomatic ties with nations, the current administration does not compromise the country's freedom and integrity. Referring to concerns raised by the opposition on the diplomatic ties President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has established with countries such as China, the Ambassador assured that China is working with Maldives to bring upon the desired economic and infrastructural development promised by the President and would not interfere with sovereign issues of the nation.

Ambassador Shareef praised President Yameen for the government's efforts to keep the nation free from negative foreign influences and for never compromising the integrity and freedom of the nation.
