"Maldivian" to operate flights to Dhaalu Airport

National Airline of Maldives, "Maldivian" has announced that scheduled flights to Dhaalu Airport will begin on Wednesday.

In an exclusive interview with PSM News, Managing Director of Maldivian, Abdul Haris said that weekly flights have been scheduled to fly from Velana International Airport to the newly developed Dhaalu Airport located in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo. He ensured that before the end of this year, the number of flights to Dhaalu Airport is expected to be increased to 3 flights weekly.

Haaris highlighted that with Maldivian starting the flights to Dhaalu Airport, citizens residing in Dhaalu Atoll and nearby areas would have much leisurely lifestyle in terms of transportation.

He noted that this service initiated by Maldivian would pave easier routes for the citizens who have established businesses in the area. Abdul Haris said that the price for a one way ticket to Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo is 888 Rufiyaa.

Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo Airport was developed by at a cost of 20 million dollars. 65 hectares of land was reclaimed from the island’s lagoon to develop the airport. The airport boasts an 800 metre long runway, and hangers for parking jets.
