President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent condolences to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohamed Nawaaz Shreef following the death and destruction in the oil tanker explosion in Bahalwapur.
The President said in his message that he was deeply saddened by the news of an overturned oil tanker exploding in Bahalwapur, Sunday morning, resulting in the tragic loss of lives and injuring many.
He extended profound sympathies to the Prime Minister, the Government and the people of Pakistan on behalf of the Maldivian government and the people of the Maldives.
He expressed hope that recovery efforts would be successful and prayed for the bereaved families as well as those who sustained various injuries to find strength and patience in overcoming this time of grief.
