The ocean conference held from 5th till 9th at the UN office in New York, United States was a huge success, says the Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. Mohamed Shainee. Important decisions were made during the ocean conference, Minister Shainee said.
At the conference, leaders from different countries discussed and deliberated ways on attaining the 14th sustainable development goal. The Maldivian delegation was led by the Fisheries Minister.
Speaking with PSM News about the work done at the conference, Minister Shainee said that important decisions relating to ocean sustainability and fisheries sector were made during the conference.
Minister Shainee also delivered a speech at the conference, which focused on reducing ocean waste and ways to provide equipment, increase income and market excess for fisherman from small island states like Maldives.
