Ambassador Shiaan presents credentials to Duke of Luxembourg

The new Ambassador of Maldives to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Ahmed Shiaan, has presented his Letter of Credence to the Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg. The ceremony took place at the Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg.

The Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg welcomed Ambassador Shiaan, expressing pleasure to receive the new Ambassador of Maldives to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Ambassador Shiaan thanked for the audience and conveyed the greetings and good wishes from President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to HRH Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg.

During the private audience following the credential ceremony, Ambassador Shiaan expressed that it was a great honour to be appointed as the Ambassador of Maldives to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Grand Duke Henri and Ambassador Shiaan also discussed issues of mutual interest including climate change, tourism, trade and investments.

Grand Duke Henri expressed his confidence that the appointment of Ambassador Shiaan will rejuvenate and strengthen the relations between the two countries. Ambassador Shiaan assured Grand Duke Henri of his commitment to work closely with the Government of Luxembourg to foster closer collaboration and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
