The Non-resident Ambassador of Argentina, Maria Christina Ueltschi, presented her Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the ceremony, the President conveyed good wishes to the President of Argentina and congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of her term as the Ambassador of Argentina to the Maldives.
During the call, the President reflected on the three decades of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Argentina, and noted that the Maldives and Argentina share common views on different issues in the international fora. The President also expressed the readiness of the Maldives, to fully support the Government of Argentina on areas of mutual interests. Furthermore, the President conveyed his assurances and confidence in strengthened relations between the two countries during the term of the Ambassador.
The Ambassador conveyed greetings from the President of Argentina, and expressed gratitude for receiving her at the Non-resident Ambassador of Argentina to the Maldives. The Ambassador further noted that the Government of Argentina is in a position to offer friendship and cooperation in all areas of common benefit, and expressed hopes to receive the same level of support from the Government of Maldives.
The President was accompanied at the call by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer.
