Health Ministry to establish a RO plant at Gan Regional Hospital

Ministry of Health has signed agreements with two companies to establish a reverse osmosis plant capable of producing 20 tonnes of water per day at Laamu Gan Regional Hospital.

Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim signed the agreement on behalf of the state while the Director of Raiza Private Limited Mohamed Faisal and Project Operations Manager of Static Company Private Limited Shahud Mohamed signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies.

Under the agreement, Raiza Private Limited is to complete the construction of the plant house within 80 days. The agreement also stipulates the construction of a storage facility that can store up to 20 tonnes of water in addition to a staff accommodation block. Static Company Private Limited has been contracted to install the reverse osmosis plant in a period of 125 days.

The state funded project to establish a reverse osmosis plant at Laamu Gan Regional Hospital costs MVR 3.4 million, according to the Health Ministry.
