State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has revealed the first test run of the new 8000 Kilowatt generator would be carried out after a successful installation.
As the electricity usage of Capital City Male' keeps increasing, STELCO strives to provide services to the residents without interruption with an affordable price. In the efforts to improve their services, STELCO has recently completed installing an additional generator.
Senior Engineer of STELCO, Ibrahim Rauf said they will load the generators in the upcoming week and will try to avoid the interruption of the services while it runs.
With the addition of the new generator, STELCO's capacity will increase to 76,000 Kilowatt. STELCO urges the public not to waste electricity as it will decrease the load of the network. The additional generator will enable to shut down the small sized generators used by STELCO.
Currently 26 generators are being used in providing the services.
